First Part of the Story

Consegniamo la prima parte della storia Eclectic Camden Town (v. figura

n. 1) e, senza anticipare nulla, chiediamo di leggerla per scoprire

cosa stanno facendo Jessie e Mary.

Eclectic Camden Town (Part 1)

Mary and Jessie are on the phone.

Mary and Jessie: “Hello! Jessie and Mary speaking.

We are in Camden Town. Come here Tom. We are

eating delicious donuts and French fries. American

food!”

Tom: “Nice! Can you tell me how to get to the

American Burger? I’m at Camden Lock.”

Mary: “Ok, from Camden Lock…”

Facciamo notare agli alunni l’espressione “Can you tell me how

to get to…?”, usata per chiedere indicazioni stradali, e sottoline-

iamo che la storia è volutamente lasciata in sospeso: saranno loro

a fornire a Tom la direzione da prendere per raggiungere i suoi

amici.
